"Everyone should get to experience Eric Hansen's
music at least once before they die!"

Dear Eric,
“I do hope you remember me. I wrote to ask your permission to use
your song ‘Nobody Knows’ on a DVD I made for the parents of the kindergarten
class in our school in Brooklyn. Your response was a big yes with a request for
a copy and here it is. I do hope you enjoy it. Everyone here loved it and to be
very honest, it is the music that makes it work. You are gifted and talented and
I thank you for sharing your talents with us.”
S.F. Teacher in Brooklyn
"Personally and on behalf of the Folklore Society
I want to thank you for the great concert! ... Everyone I've
heard from said they thought it was great. ... I'll be playing
songs from all of your CDs on my KBOO show for years. It
was really fun working with you, I hope we can do it again. I
hope your tour goes well." Cheers

"I must declare I'm TOTALLY CAPTIVATED by A Lover's Lullaby - I
keep playing it over and over and over."
Eddie O'Strange

"Thank you Eric for visiting York, PA and putting
on such a a great show on April 16th (2004). You truly are
blessed with a gift of music, both vocally and lyrically. Please
keep up your great musical mission, as long as you can easily do
so."

"Eric Hansen returns, sharing his outstanding
talent for a second year. Uplifting everyone who hears his
songs, his love of his craft shines through every note – a
metaphysical troubadour."
Joe Dickey
Music Director, Big Sky Retreat
"Eric exudes such a genuine presence as he
engages the audience in sing along participation or delights
them with his smooth, rich voice in a solo. As he confidently
strums his guitar he seems to intuitively read the musical
interest of the audience so as present them with the perfect
song for that moment. It is evident to me that Eric
receives great joy in sharing his talent. This makes his
performances an occasion whereby all benefit. I know that all
who experience the original songs written and performed by Eric
will agree with me in saying, 'as he strums, everyone hums'."
Rev. Marvis Rodrigues

“If you attended the Alice Peacock concert back
in April, than you witnessed a rare treat at Stone Soup
Coffeehouse. His name was Eric Hansen and he opened for the
young rising star. The audience liked Eric so much, they gave
him a standing ovation and he performed an encore—as an opener!
It really wasn’t much of a surprise at all, since Eric has one
of the most beautiful voices going…I guess you could say we like
him.”
Barbara Wahlberg
Stone Soup Folk Arts Foundation
"Wraps his voice of supple leather around the
solid sole of his songs for music that wears well mile after
mile. His simple songs of substance forgo artifice, aiming more
directly for the heart."

"Above all, the songs
are heartfelt and the guy is sincere, and that goes a long way
in the irony-drenched climate we've all gotten so accustomed
to."

"Funky fun alternating with gentle love songs.
If Someday makes you cry, Scrub A Dub will make you laugh, and I
Love My Guitar will make you dance. Intuitive writing backed by
tight music tracks. A fully entertaining and enjoyable
experience you will be sure to keep by your CD player."
Allen Foster,
Songwriter's Monthly
"No gimmicks, definitely no fourth wall. He simply weaves
a gentle spell with his tender, folk-rock anthems of the heart.
He has a vast canon of songs that make you think about life,
love & the beauty we take for granted."
John Hoglund
Back Stage
"This collection of
15 songs showcases the talents and work of a sensitive
singer/songwriter ... With his confident baritone voice he conveys
his thoughts on such diverse topics as the ego boosting
importance of a cellular phone; a philosophizing frog named
Charlie; the finity of life and the lack of time to realize all
one's dreams. Some of the lyrics are very intimate, on occasion
drifting towards spirituals."

"This guy really
blows me away. How smooth with guitar. What a voice,
what songs, what sensitivity, what honesty and lust for life!"

Just read an article about you
in the current Dirty Linen and I wanted to say, "Thank you."
I am a performer, too; I sing Sicilian roots music and while I
am moving forward at just about lightening speed, sometimes
worries or fears creep up and I just start wondering if...if
....if...ahhhh...you know the
routine....Anyway, the story of your life
is amazing and, of course, truly inspiring...and it's kind of
like a kick in the pants for me...reminding me to ignore the
little gremlin in my head and keep moving forward doing what I
love to do. (as I am writing this, I'm listening to your Mp3s on CDBaby...they're great...) I hope I get the chance to hear you
perform live sometime; I'll bet it's magical. Tante Buone Cose, - that's an
Italian expression; it means, "so many good things," as in : I
wish for you so many good things,

...As you well know, our city is experiencing
great loss and tragedy. But, we are recovering. New York
could use a little of that magical, healing music by Eric
Hansen right about now. God Bless,

I am one of the teachers in the Blue Room at
The Hudson Guild. I’m writing about “Real Slow.”
I must say it is a very peaceful and soothing piece of work.
I played it for my class during rest time and it put them
all to sleep. Now, some say that’s not a good thing,
but believe me…It is

will be charmed by this very enjoyable debut."

"Lucky" is pure emotion; that intangible thing
that moves us all. Eric has captured it. He's written it,
mastered it, recorded it and now offers it to us in a tangible
form. The release contains 10 tracks that will turn your
emotions from laughter to tears with realization and
recognition."

"Hansen's voice is
almost schizophrenic. When he sings a ballad, he reminds me of
Gordon Lightfoot with a little Neil Diamond thrown in. When he
sings the blues, there's a little touch of JJ Cale and well,
Eric Hansen. The production is warm and to the point. All in
all, this is a quality set of music by a talented
singer/songwriter."

"Just received your album-sounds good! I
played "I Love My Guitar" on last night's show because it fit
right in with the theme: A salute to acoustic instruments. I'll
have a closer listen and play more on the show in the near
future."

"...songs of love, loss and lust, songs that
will crack you up and ones that will break your heart. The
romantic ballads are beautiful, and more than that, they are
perceptive. The lightheartedly sexy romps are irresistible
...and original. This album stands alone. The varied flavors of
Eric's voice come across well as he moves from gentle smoothness
that flows like water to a more assertive, slightly husky tone."
Maya Amis
NY Theatre Wire
"After the first
strum of his guitar and note from the mouth harp on the first
track "Trouble", I knew I was in for a great recording.
The only thing he does better than record his music is
performing his music. A must for your music collection."

"... Eric's guitar playing is a constant nod
to James Taylor, with speaking-like vocals that instantly remind
you of Cat Stevens. Simple. Honest. Pure. There is a continuing
strand of thread that runs through Eric's music, from song to
song, album to album, and is woven into the lyrics and that is
that 'Life is hard, but life is good.' ..."
